Funding Open Access Publishing: How We Can Support You Online

This workshop will take place on Microsoft Teams.

This workshop is particularly aimed at academic staff and postgraduate researchers who are actively publishing their work. The University believes that making your research outputs available as widely as possible maximises their impact within the academic community and society. Publishing open access is also important for meeting funder requirements and REF eligibility. The University has several open access publishing agreements with publishers as well as a budget to help cover the costs of open access publishing outside of these agreements

This session will help you identify what journals are covered by the University's open access publishing agreements, look at how to benefit from these agreements, and explain how to apply for funding for open access publishing charges. We will also show you how to search for individual journal titles covered by our agreements using our new tool Scifree.

You can find out more information about using Teams, including how to install it on your personal device, on our Teams support page.

Details of all of our workshops can be found on our InfoSkills workshops page.
