Cancelled: Designing audience first public engagement In-Person

This workshop has been cancelled due to illness.

Are you planning a public engagement activity and want to make sure it truly resonates with your audience? This interactive workshop will help you design engagement that starts with your audience’s needs and interests, ensuring your approach is effective and impactful.

In this session, you will: 

  • Write a public engagement intention statement to clarify what you want to achieve, who you want to engage with, and the impact you hope to make 

  • Profile your audience to understand their motivations, interests and potential barriers to inclusion  

  • Create an engagement plan tailored to your audience and aims.

Aimed at Manchester Met staff and students who are:

  • Planning a public engagement activity as part of your research or project 

  • Looking for practical tools to make your engagement more audience-focused 

  • Interested in improving the quality and impact of your public engagement.


This session is part of a regular programme of public and community engagement workshops delivered by the Public Engagement with Research Team (publicengagement@mmu.ac.uk) and the Community Engagement Team (community@mmu.ac.uk).
