We’re pleased to invite you to a series of upcoming workshops designed by Vocal, a specialist Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) organisation that brings people and health research together, in partnership with Manchester Met, to develop your skills and confidence in PPIE and community partnership working. 

Who should attend? 

Researchers, research support staff, and anyone looking to strengthen inclusive, collaborative, and high-quality PPIE practices.  

These sessions are suitable for researchers at all career stages and for anyone who works with patients, members of the public and/or community organisations. 

Workshop 2: Partnering with Communities in Research

Develop your approach to working collaboratively with communities. 

This workshop will help you: 

• Recognise the importance and impact of meaningful community partnerships. 

• Explore the new Greater Manchester Respectful Research Charter, co-developed with VCFSE partners and researchers for more equitable partnership working**. 

• Hear from guest speakers showcasing successful researcher–community collaborations. 

• Reflect on how to embed effective partnership approaches in your own projects. 

• Access key guidance, and resources. 

McrMet ECHO (Empowering Community and Health Outreach) 

During this session you will also hear about the launch of our university wide McrMet ECHO initiative. This is a Medical Research Council (MRC) funded scheme that supports our researchers to embed PPIE in their research applications.
